β What is Movember? β Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's suicide. By encouraging men to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides annual check-ups, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of family history of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Delta Kappa Epsilon dedicates itself to donate to Movember in an effort to raise awareness for the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives.
β What is CARE? β C.A.R.E. advocates at the local, national, and international levels for policy change and the rights of poor people as well as focuses on empowering and meeting the needs of women and girls and promoting gender equality. Their goals include providing disaster relief to areas in crisis and providing long term solutions to poverty around the world.
